Our work to reduce environmental impacts
At Papyrus, environmental, social and governance considerations form part of our business strategy and operational dicision-making. We have established greenhouse gas reduction objectives and report progress through our sustainability disclosures and climate programmes.
We're working with suppliers that meet our supplier requirements, including environmental and social expectations and offering products with specific environmental or social attributes supported by recognised certifications, product declarations or supplier documentation.
Through innovation, collaboration, and accountability, we're working to integrate environmental considerations into our business activities and long-term planning.

Carbon emissions & climate impact
From our morning commute to how our products come to your doorstep, every step has an effect on the planet. This is why we are international in our every step to identify and implement opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our operations and logistics activities.
For the past three years we have been measuring and reporting on our emissions as a group. We have implemented several initiatives to minimize our limited Scope 1 and 2 emissions. At the same time we have been actively engaging with suppliers who share our commitment to lowering Scope 3 emissions.
By the end of 2024, as a part of OptiGroup, we have committed ourselves to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). In 2025, we submitted our targets to the SBTi. We see this as a valuable opportunity for collaboration and as an opportunity to support the implementation of our climate strategy and greenhouse gas reduction objectives. We are committed to pursuing our long-term environmental and social objectives through measurable actions and reporting.

Supplier engagement
As a wholesaler, we are strengthened by the partnerships we build with our suppliers. Together, we work to meet legal requirements and support continuous improvement on environmental and social topics, and establish supplier requirements relating to environmental, social and governance performance.
A key area in which we engage our suppliers is on reducing our carbon footprint. Since the majority of our carbon footprint is coming from our supply chain, collaboration with our suppliers is essential in reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with our value chain activities.
