An innovative and particularly sustainable product has been developed by Gmund Paper in a cross-industry collaboration with Italian fabric manufacturer Manteco®. Paper with textile character

The paper is made from 50% residual cotton fibers that are produced during yarn manufacturing in Italy – usually a wasted material. These long fibers are supplemented with 50% short cotton linters – also a by-product of the textile industry. Both originate from the cotton cleaning and spinning process.
They are then dyed in seven selected colours from the Manteco® fabric collections. The result is a stylish and sustainable paper with a textile character and a soft feel.

A product for zero-waste mindset

Thanks to its soft yet strong fibers, cotton is considered the highest quality raw material for paper. In Gmund Manteco, the cotton plant is used with a zero‑waste mindset, turning by‑products into something beautiful and valuable. This is sustainability you can feel.

For creative communication that you feel

Gmund Manteco is ideal for companies which are interested in storytelling, materiality, packaging and branding projects with exceptional haptics. In other words: when you want customers to pause, pick it up, and feel the difference. It is perfect for different printing techniques: offset, letterpress, screen printing, blind embossing, hot foil stamping and die cutting.
