We are committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
Papyrus is part of OptiGroup, a leading European distribution Group offering customised supply solutions to B2B customers. In 2025, OptiGroup’s climate targets were validated and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), confirming that its ambitions align with the Paris Agreement objective of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
As part of the commitment, OptiGroup promises to:
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its own operations by 54.6% by 2033, compared to 2023 levels.
- Ensure that 81% of suppliers, based on emissions from purchased goods and services, have science-based targets according to SBTi by 2030.
- Reduce absolute emissions of scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gases by 90% by 2050 from the base year 2023.
What we do
OptiGroup continues to drive sustainability with a focus on concrete actions and collaboration throughout the value chain. This work naturally includes the entire group, of which Papyrus is a part.

Decarbonize operations

Engage suppliers

Close the gap

Stay accountable

The SBTi is a global initiative that helps companies set climate goals that are in line with what science requires to limit global warming. It offers standards, tools, and a validation process that reviews and approves companies' emission targets. In this way, the SBTi ensures that climate commitments are credible, measurable and aligned with the goal of net zero by 2050.
Scope 1, 2 and 3 is a system for categorizing a company's greenhouse gas emissions according to the GHG Protocol, which helps to quantify and report the impact of emissions.
Scope 1 is direct emissions from sources that the company owns or controls (for example, its own vehicles and real estate).
Scope 2 is indirect emissions from purchased energy such as electricity, heating, cooling and steam.
Scope 3 is all other indirect emissions in the company's value chain, upstream and downstream, such as purchased goods and services, travel and use of products.
