FSC®
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the sustainable management of the world’s forests. The FSC develops and maintains global standards for responsible forestry and certifies forests and wood products that meet these standards. The aim is to reconcile ecological, social and economic interests and thus ensure the protection of forests and their diverse functions. FSC certification helps consumers choose environmentally and socially responsible products.

PEFC
PEFC stands for Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. The certification system is committed to sustainable forest management while safeguarding the interests of owners. PEFC serves as a unified umbrella label for the mutual recognition of different national and regional certification programmes in Europe and overseas. The aim is to ensure environmental compatibility, social responsibility and economic sustainability in forestry. The control and certification is carried out by independent third parties.

EU Ecolabel
The EU Ecolabel is an environmental label of the European Union that identifies products and services that meet high environmental standards. For paper products, this means that they must meet certain environmental criteria regarding their production, use and disposal. For paper products, the origin of the raw materials, the reduction of chemicals, energy consumption and recyclability are considered.

Nordic Swan Ecolabel
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is an environmental label awarded by the Nordic countries (DK, SE, NO, FI, IS). It is awarded to products and services that meet high environmental standards and are environmentally friendly. The aim of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel is to promote environmentally conscious decisions and to reduce the ecological footprint of products. For paper products, sustainable use of raw materials, reduced use of chemicals, energy consumption and recyclability are assessed.

Blauer Engel (German Ecolabel)
The Blauer Engel is an environmental label awarded in Germany. The label is awarded to products and services that meet high  environmental and health standards. The most important aspects of the Blauer Engel include environmental criteria, health and safety, and sustainability. Recycled fibres are used for paper, and chemicals are used very sparingly. Water and energy consumption are also checked.

Cradle to Cradle
Cradle to Cradle Certified® assesses the recyclability of products. Products should be designed in such a way that at the end of their life cycle they can either be returned to the biological cycle or used as technical nutrients in new products. The assessment includes material health, recyclability, energy and water management, as well as social criteria.
